pickle.

life is more complicated sometimes than we let on. two ASMs [assistant store managers] are leaving our store and that leaves openings and positions needing to be filled in by others, others including myself. i've been offered the product manager position with would promote me from a supervisor position to a functional manager position. for those not knowledgeable in the world of retail, positions at victoria's secret ascend in this order:

sales associate
elevated associate
supervisor [i am here]
functional manager [i could be here]
assistant store manager
store manager


even though this would be a big promotion for myself within the work place, i'm unsure of whether to accept or not. i've been weighing out the pros and cons, i continue to find myself at a standstill. :/


pros:
moving up within the company
ability to have more say-so in store team strategies
higher income
bonuses

cons:
conflicts with school
working longer hours
more responsibility
accountable for team of associates

my frustration with school is no less forthcoming. this being only the third week in, i've already had over 200 problems of homework for my cal II class (of which i regret to say i have done none), a whole chapter's worth of problems for my proofs class, one story due for my reporting class (and yet another i should be working on as i am typing this out seeing as it is due tomorrow), one two-page paper due, read the entire book- letters from an american farmer and up to chapter nine of scarlet letter for my lit class. i'm still in awe that i've found time to sleep and time for my personal life, although scarce.


but i shall remain standing.
